In a couple of years, Singapore will proudly house Facebook’s first Asian data centre. The social media giant announced earlier today that the new facility is expected to cost around S$1.4 billion. Spanning a whopping 170,000 sq m, it’ll be located at Tanjong Kling (west side of Singapore). Not only will this exciting initiative expand Facebook’s growing presence in Southeast Asia, it will also provide employment opportunities for many.

According to their statement, Singapore was selected for a number of reasons, including “robust infrastructure and access to fiber, a talented workforce, and a great set of community partners”, which includes the Singapore Economic Development Board and the Jurong Town Corporation.

The complex will also be positioned close to Google’s upcoming data center and will boast the same eco-friendly features Facebook facilities are known for, such as liquid cooling technology (to minimise water and power consumption). Perforated lightweight material will cover the building’s facade in order to facilitate better air flow.

It’s no longer a secret: earlier today, global gaming chair maker Secretlab revealed that they are now the official chair partner of internationally renowned eSports team, Team Secret.

This tie-up means a line of special edition chairs will be created and released for the five-man group — just in time for them to compete in the sport’s most prestigious tournament, The International 2018 (TI8), where a prize pool of $24 million is at stake. The chairs will be based off Secretlab’s OMEGA 2018 and TITAN models, which boosts features fit for a king — multi-tilt mechanism, four-directional armrests and an inbuilt lumbar support system.

Here’s the best part: you get to purchase these chairs too. No special bidding or anything, just hop over to their website. While the chairs don’t look that different from the original models apart from the white accents and team’s logo, it’s still a way to support the crew, especially if you’re a fan. Plus if you haven’t gotten one of these cushioned seaters, the ergonomic and swanky features are worth investing in.

Google removes public submit URL to Google Tool 2018

In a shocking move, Google has removed the ability for site owners to submit URL to Google. This tool allowed anyone without google search access to submit a URL to google without restrictions.

What happened?

The majority of people who submitted to Google are not necessarily the owner of the website. SEOs could submit a URL for a page they have a link on to get the link indexed and push up the rank faster. Another alternative is to use social media such as Facebook or Twitter profile.

How do I submit my site now?

Google advised site owners to submit their pages via Google search console Or Google Webmaster. You can either run the Fetch and Submit or upload a sitemap of your website. Either way, this is probably the quickest way to add your new content to Google!
